Our chart computation uses the Lahiri ayanamsa (standard North Indian sidereal system), calculates the D1 (Rashi), D9 (Navamsa), and D10 (Dashamsha) divisional charts, runs the full Vimshottari Dasha sequence from your birth, and overlays current transits of slow-moving planets (Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu/Ketu) against your natal positions.
Chart computation is deterministic — two AstroGully users with the same birth data will get identical positions. Our interpretation layer uses Anthropic's Claude, guided by a detailed system prompt trained on Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Phaladeepika, Saravali, and the Jaimini sutras. Every piece of AI-generated content is clearly labelled with an "AI-assisted astro analysis" header — we don't want you to mistake an algorithm for a pandit.
AstroGully is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Bengaluru. This is a real business with real accountability — if something breaks or a refund is needed, an actual human replies to your email.
Vedic astrology is a powerful tool for self-reflection and decision-making when used thoughtfully. It is not a crystal ball, and we will never tell you otherwise. Our readings describe likely themes, active periods, and classical remedies. The outcomes of your life remain your own choices, effort, and circumstances.
We deliberately avoid: predictive certainty ("you will marry in October"), medical claims ("this will cure your illness"), fear-based framing ("if you don't wear this stone, disaster"), or fate-framing ("this was always going to happen"). Good astrology opens possibilities; it doesn't close them.
We charge what it costs to run the AI, plus a reasonable margin to keep the service sustainable. Our credit pack pricing targets roughly 80% gross margin over our direct Anthropic API costs — enough to pay for development, hosting, and customer support, but far less than the markup typical of astrological consultations.
